Autoimmune conditions
Pain management:
Dry needling:
The use of acupuncture needles to help release tight muscles that contribute to pain and limited range of motion.
Trigger point injections:
Similar to dry needling but incorporates a procaine (Local anesthetic) solution to help re-set the muscles so they stay relaxed for a longer period of time.
Dry needling and trigger point injections can be helpful for treating the following: Headaches, shoulder/neck/hip pain, tight forearms and calves, muscle imbalances leading to knee pain, and more.
Prolotherapy:
This therapy is suitable for tendon and ligament injuries to help with lingering pain and instability.
Using a irritant solution (Sugar in this case) to create a temporary local inflammatory reaction. This in turn draws immune cells to the area treated to lay down new collagen and strengthened damaged tissues.
Examples of conditions which can be treated with prolotherapy – Ankle sprains, shoulder pain, knee pain (MCL/ACL sprains), tennis/golfer’s elbow, wrist pain, and more.
A physical medicine treatment may include one or all of the above treatments depending on the situation.
Naturopathic services:
Using a mixture of lifestyle changes, nutrition, supplements, labs, and prescriptions when needed to address a variety of different health concerns. Book in for a free 15 minute consult if you would like to learn more about if naturopathic medicine is right for you.
Dr. Murray can order a variety of labs (conventional and specialized hormone/food sensitivity testing) and holds certifications in prescriptive authority, acupuncture, Prolotherapy (Extremities only), and IV therapy. She has also completed additional training in hormone restoration therapy. She is a member in good standing with the College of Naturopathic Physicians of BC (CNPBC).
