Hello!

I’m Christine, a counsellor offering a compassionate, client-centred approach to therapy. I aim to meet you where you are and provide a supportive, collaborative space where you can explore challenges, deepen understanding of yourself, and move toward meaningful change at your own pace.

I work from a person-centered foundation, offering a non-judgmental space where you are supported to explore your experiences in a way that feels safe and authentic. I believe in each person’s capacity for growth and healing, and I integrate therapeutic tools to support the goals that matter most to you.

While my approach is warm and supportive, I also gently challenge patterns, perspectives, and beliefs when helpful, supporting insight and meaningful change.

My path to counselling was shaped by my own experience with grief and loss, where I found space to process and gain clarity during a difficult time. This continues to inform my work and deepen my empathy.

I often draw from DBT-informed skills to support clients navigating anxiety, depression, self-esteem challenges, life transitions, parenthood, and grief. I place strong emphasis on the therapeutic relationship and use strengths-based, practical approaches to help you build insight, resilience, and tools for daily life.

Before becoming a counsellor, I spent over ten years as an elementary school teacher and also built and ran a small business. I am also a mother to two teenagers, which continues to shape my understanding of family life and relationships.

You might be a good fit if you’re feeling overwhelmed, stuck, or unsure of your next steps, or if you tend to put others’ needs before your own and struggle with boundaries. You may be navigating anxiety, relationship challenges, or significant life transitions, and are looking for both practical tools and a deeper understanding of yourself in a supportive, non-judgmental space.

I hold a Master of Arts in Counselling Psychology, along with a B.A. and B.Ed., and have completed all requirements for my RCC designation (currently pending certification). My rate is $130, increasing to $150 upon certification.

Sarah Susswein

I am a Registered Clinical Counsellor and I am passionate about maximizing enjoyment and life! I have had my share of suffering (and done with it!). I was a homeless teen once. I was so used to being in survival mode that I didn’t realize my abilities to connect and make optimal decisions were deeply affected well into adulthood. My survival mode carried on as a young single parent. With much work, I have learned to align myself with my values. As a counsellor, I want to pay it forward and help others experience what is possible. In my spare time, I like to lift heavy things, read, make my teens laugh, and try not to fall too deep into random rabbit holes.

My positive psychology approach to counselling is to focus on you - your strengths, your values, your present and future. Counselling is a safe space to cry, laugh, to be heard, and to reflect. Counselling is an opportunity to resolve and leave behind the past, envision the future, to create action plans, to pick up tools, to experiment, and to practice new behaviours and ways of thinking. You already have inherent strength and resilience. I will walk by your side and support you, so you can find your way and live life to the fullest.

My areas of focus:

- ADHD

- Learning Disabilities & Giftedness

- General & Performance Anxiety

- Trauma

- Self-Esteem

- Anger

I am trauma-informed and use a combination of therapies that draw on cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT), rational emotive behaviour therapy (REBT), solution-focused therapy, emotion-focused therapy, and narrative therapy. In addition to counselling, I’m trained in the Orton-Gillingham (OG) approach and in National Institute for Learning Development (NILD) educational therapy for the remediation of learning disabilities.

I work with individuals ages 12 years and up. I look forward to connecting!

My services are covered by major extended health plans. Please check with your benefits provider for details.
